So – are millenials really that much different when looking for love? Apparently not, and creator Troy Mundle proves it in the funny and very true-to-life Single and Dating in Vancouver.  Except for local references, this series could be Single and Dating in [Name Your Hometown].  The well drawn and relatable characters are just like people you know: Mundle as Troy McMaster, good guy looking for love, Michael Goudge as Micheal Robinson, laid back Lothario to whom the idea of monogamy is anethema, Chad Riley as “Chadillac” Mayweather, single dad and wannabe real estate mogul; and last but not least Sheri Rabold as the sexy, smart Sheri Wilson, sick of deadbeat dates who wear backwards baseball caps.

The Indie Series Awards take place Wednesday April 1 in North Hollywood, CA. Single & Dating is nominated for four awards (Best Ensemble Comedy, Best Directing Comedy, Best Guest Actress Comedy and Best Supporting Actress Comedy).

As Sheri Rabold puts it, Vancouver’s dating scene is a “notoriously hard nut to crack”.

The actor plays one of four friends looking for love in Single & Dating in Vancouver, a comedy web series that’s garnered more than 25,000 views on YouTube.

“Living here, we don’t know so much about it,” Rabold told the Georgia Straight during an interview at a café near Granville Island. “But if you talk to people from outside of Vancouver, they say that it is the most impossible dating scene here—that the girls are stuck up and the guys are all douchebags.”

Rabold is nominated for the best-actress award at the second annual Vancouver Web Fest. From March 6 to 8, VWF 2015 will screen 64 web series—TV–style shows whose episodes are released online—and bring together content creators and viewers to celebrate this burgeoning medium…

“Nowhere, and I mean nowhere, in the tourist videos, brochures, or pamphlets did they say how hard it was to meet women in this city.”

These words are spoken by the character Troy McMaster in the pilot episode of Single & Dating in Vancouver, a witty new web series that explores the highs and lows of dating in the so-called “no fun city.”
